About Jason
Jason combines deep technical expertise with a passion for equipping others to solve complex problems. Combining an easy-going and playful demeanor with deep understanding of systems thinking, he creates environments where exploration encourages innovation. His approach transforms technical challenges into collaborative opportunities that build both immediate solutions and the lasting confidence needed to navigate future complexity.
Jason has always valued lifelong learning and exploration. With master's degrees in electrical engineering and mathematics from Purdue University, his career journey spans electrical design and test, software development, modeling and simulation, and space and communications technology platforms. Culminating in systems engineering role, Jason began learning and applying ways to solve complex problems that span multiple domains and disciplines.
With no deeper way to learn than teaching others, Jason then spent a decade at the Fort Wayne campus of Purdue University in the Systems Engineering Center teaching engineering design and experimental design and measurement. In addition to his teaching role, he spent significant time developing courses, conducting system design research, and engaging in organizational and community improvement projects. During this time, he had a pivotal realization: while solving problems was satisfying, equipping others with the frameworks, tools, and facilitation to solve their own problems was even more powerful and rewarding.
After meeting Jennifer on campus and recognizing their complementary strengths, the duo thrived helping others combine strategic and innovative thinking with actionable progress. They founded and launched Gensyn Design in 2019 to share their expertise and passion for turning possibilities into realities. Since then, Jason and the Gensyn team have partnered with individuals, organizations, and communities to explore untapped opportunities, thrive during uncertainty, and execute approaches for growth and learning.
Jason loves learning so much he married a teacher. He and his wife Elizabeth have two sons who ensure that life is a constant learning experience. When possible, he enjoys the exhilarating experiences of creating and playing games, camping and live music (and the intersection of the two), and Dodgers World Series championships.
